Australian Non-Bank Lender Discloses Hacks Of Customer Data

  • Australian personal lending provider Latitude Financial Services disclosed to regulators on Thursday hacking incidents affecting more than 300,000 consumers.
  • The non-bank lender notified the Australian Stock Exchange that hackers had made off with copies of nearly 103,000 driver's licenses and an additional 225,000 "customer records."
  • It said it had "detected unusual activity" on its systems "over the last few days." The hackers, it said, were "sophisticated."
